The Castle

The Castle is a dance venue at 2004 North 16th Street in Tampa's Ybor City. Opened in 1992, it grew from a saloon into a multi-space nightlife venue while retaining a distinctive alternative identity. The operator identifies several areas, including the Main Hall, Tower, Courtyard and Dungeon, within the same club. Its electronic connection comes through recurring nights such as Midnight Mass and Communion After Dark. The programme explicitly includes industrial, EBM, electro, noise and synthpop, placing the venue in a different musical tradition from a conventional house-only room. Individual nights bring their own DJs and themes, so the event description matters when choosing the sound and atmosphere of a visit.
