Frequently asked questions

Can I use RaveMeApp without an invitation or paid account?

Yes. The public alpha is open and free. You can browse the public scene without an account; Join, Save, messaging and organizer tools may require sign-in. Pro, Venue and advertising products are not for sale in this alpha.

Why can I find my event in search but not see a marker on the map?

Search and the main map have different visibility rules. An eligible public event or rave at your own location (no linked venue) normally becomes visible on the map seven days before its start, even if search already shows it. An own-location festival uses a 45-day window. A scene signal uses 24 hours. Venue-linked and imported listings do not use the seven-day hold. Visibility also depends on review status, access/privacy settings, end time and current map filters. If no end time is set, the app assumes a default duration (about 8 hours from start, about 12 for festivals), after which the marker leaves the map. If the event is within its window and still missing, send its URL to support.

Does linking my event to a venue change when it appears?

Yes. The seven-day / 45-day own-location windows apply to user-created listings without a linked venue. A verified venue link can appear earlier after approval. On the map you often see the venue marker rather than a separate event pin — the event lives inside the place marker. A venue name in the description alone is not necessarily a verified venue link. Do not choose an unrelated venue just to make a marker appear earlier.

Why is my event or signal still hidden after the visibility window starts?

A listing may still be awaiting review, be restricted by its private-access settings, lack an actionable path (for example a ticket URL), have ended under its effective end time, or be excluded by your current filters. Private locations are not made public merely because their start time is near. Check the event details and filters first, then contact support with the listing URL if it still seems wrong.

What is the difference between Private Rave visibility, access and location?

Visibility is who can discover that the night exists. Access is who can request entry, use an invite or hold an approved grant. Location is whether you see an exact address or only an approximate area. Seeing the event does not automatically unlock the exact address. Nearby unlock first shows an approximate area; when you are close enough in the organizer’s time window you can reveal the precise location. An invite code grants access; an Entry QR at the door is for check-in, not the address.

What is Private Center and what can I do there?

Private Center is the signed-in panel for private nights. Hosts use Manage (Overview, Access, Invites, Control) to approve or reject guests, send invite codes, release or hide location, assign door staff, scan Entry QR, message guest groups and edit private location or schedule. Guests use Access to see requests, approvals and invites. Door staff scan Entry QR for check-in; that is not the same as unlocking the address. Creating a Private Rave still starts from Create — Private Center manages it afterwards.

Why can’t I create or publish an event?

Create Event is for artist and organization accounts (not organization-only). Default type is Event; artists and organizations may also choose Rave or Festival. A regular listener does not enter Create Event — publish a Rave through Create Signal → Rave signal. Private Rave remains available to any signed-in account. Festivals require a verified organization. Choosing Organization at registration does not unlock Create Event until verification is approved; artist accounts get Create Event with account type artist. “I can’t create” is different from “I published but don’t see a map marker” — the latter is usually review timing or the map visibility window. Publication limits exist as anti-spam protection.

Why can't I see a private rave's exact location?

Private events can use invitations, access requests and delayed or approximate location reveal. Before unlock you may only see an approximate area marker, not the street address. The organizer’s access and reveal settings determine what you can see. Do not share an address, invite code or unlocked location without authorization.

Is every event on RaveMeApp 18+?

No single 18+ rule applies to every event on the map. Organizers and venues set their own admission and age rules, subject to applicable law. Check the official event information before going; a map listing does not guarantee entry.

How old do I need to be to create an account?

You must be at least 16 to create a RaveMeApp account, including through social sign-in. Public map browsing does not require an account. Event entry ages are separate rules set by organizers and venues.

Where do event and artist listings come from?

Listings can be submitted by users or drawn from public scene sources. Some artist directory profiles are unclaimed, automatically matched records, not accounts created by the artist. Details and matches can be wrong; check the organizer's official source before travelling or buying a ticket. To correct a listing, send its URL through support.

How do I claim an artist, venue, organizer or event profile?

Use the claim action in the app where available, or contact support@ravemeapp.com with the exact profile or event URL and your connection to it. Claims are reviewed. Do not email identity documents or passwords in your first message.

How do I report a bug?

Use “Report a bug” in the app to send a description and, if useful, a screenshot you choose. You can also email support@ravemeapp.com. Avoid passwords, private messages and precise location in screenshots.

How do I delete my account or ask about my data?

See Account Deletion for the request route. For access, correction, objection or other privacy questions, contact privacy@ravemeapp.com. Do not send passwords.

Who is responsible for an event, tickets and entry?

RaveMeApp is a discovery map and directory, not the organizer, venue or ticket seller unless a listing explicitly states otherwise. The organizer runs the event; the applicable organizer, venue or ticket seller sets admission, ticket, cancellation and refund terms. RaveMeApp remains responsible for its own service and legal obligations. Check the event's official source for prices, age limits, accessibility and changes, and report a misleading listing to support.

Safety, illegal content and review requests

For fake events, harassment, scams, false claims, exposed private locations or potentially illegal content, use the report action next to the content where available or email support@ravemeapp.com. Include the exact URL or another way to find the content, what the issue is and why you believe it violates the rules or law. For a report of potentially illegal content, include your name and reply email where appropriate and a good-faith statement that the information is accurate. Avoid unnecessary sensitive data.

If your content or account was restricted and you want a review, use the same address with the decision or affected URL. We assess reports in context; a report alone does not establish a violation. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services rather than relying on this mailbox.
